Que el cine está muriendo, que Netflix está matando a las salas, que las películas ya no son lo que era antes, que ahora son todas de superhéroes, en fin.. ¿cuántas veces leyeron lo mismo en lo que va del año?
Sí, los tiempos están cambiando y el público, las productoras, los formatos, los directores y los actores se adaptan como pueden a una industria que fue sacudida hasta sus cimientos con el surgimiento de internet y ahora está en plena etapa de transformación.
Lo cierto es que podemos encontrar lanzamientos de calidad en un mar de películas taquilleras: solo hay que buscar un poco más, dado que la oferta actual es mucho mayor tanto en cantidad como en diversidad.
Tal es así que la BBC encargó a 177 críticos de todo el mundo la tarea de elegir las 100 mejores películas del Siglo XXI. Un equipo compuesto por analistas de todo el mundo (algunos periodistas, otros académicos), y estos fueron los resultados.
